Lakshmi Shankar is a mother, musician, teacher, performer, poet, writer, and baker. Under the Poetree is a collection of songs that she wrote while teaching in a Waldorf school as she noticed that children did not relate to the poems in the books which were mostly about snowflakes and spring. The audio e-book of the poems in English, Hindi, and Tamil about nature, festivals, and seasons, encourages parents to sing along with their children. She bakes under her brand “Chakkibakes” using millets and jaggery. She is currently working on her novel which is a memoir of food and memories, exploring stories and recipes.
