Workshops at the Hyderabad Literary Festival 2025 celebrate the intersection of art, culture, science, and storytelling through engaging, hands-on sessions. This year’s line-up promises a vibrant mix of creativity, inclusivity, and exploration, offering participants unique opportunities to learn, reflect, and connect.

Here’s a glimpse of what’s in store:

  • Decoding Dogs: Facilitated by Sreenivas Mangipudi, this workshop explores the fascinating interplay of human-canine communication, diving into psychology, body language, and trust-building through training. It’s a journey into the storytelling bond between two species.
  • Indian Sign Language Workshop: Anju Khemani, from the Drama Association of the Deaf (DAD), along with other Deaf Actors, Rohit, Jupiter, and Mohit will introduce participants to the basics of Indian Sign Language (ISL), alongside insights into deaf culture and disability. This workshop debunks myths, fosters empathy, and highlights the power of communication across diverse communities.
  • Read Food Labels: Nutritionist Sonam Samat empowers participants to make informed food choices by decoding food labels and spotting marketing gimmicks. The session concludes with a creative culinary activity where participants craft a healthy snack.
  • Watercolour Workshop with Egle Lipeikaite: Lithuanian artist Egle Lipeikaite shares her signature water-pouring technique to create captivating water landscapes. Participants will be exploring themes of rhythm, light, and nature.
  • Cheriyal Painting: Step into the world of Telangana’s traditional Cheriyal scroll art. Learn the techniques and stories behind this unique art form, once used as a medium of storytelling, and create a vibrant piece using natural colours.
  • Connecting with ET & Expression. Led by Seema Azharuddin, this workshop transforms literature into live art. Inspired by the Nobel Prize-winning The Vegetarian, participants will explore emotional depth through scriptwriting and live enactments.
  • Regional Language Haiku Workshop: Aditya Undru and Shiv Bansal guide participants in writing Haikus in Hindi and Telugu, celebrating linguistic diversity and the beauty of minimalist expression.
  • Stories Make the Best Language Teachers: Unnati Ved’s workshop for parents explores the magic of reading to foster language skills in children. From book recommendations to creative activities, it offers practical ways to make reading fun and educational.
  • Science Fiction Writing Workshop: Aditya Undru and Tej combine scientific principles with creative writing to inspire participants to craft imaginative and scientifically grounded narratives.
