Palagummi Sainath
Palagummi Sainath is the founder-editor of the People’s Archive of Rural India (PARI), a unique online site on rural India. He has been a journalist, reporter, rural affairs editor, and deputy chief editor of periodicals like The Hindu, Blitz, and The Daily. He has won over 60 national and international awards including the Fukuoka Grand Prize (2021), the World Media Summit Award (2014), the Ramon Magsaysay Award (2007), Amnesty International’s Global Human Rights Reporting Prize, and the Ramnath Goenka award. His earlier book Everybody Loves a Good Drought (1998) is now in its 58th reprint. The Last Heroes: Foot Soldiers of Indian Freedom (2022) is his latest publication.
