Aparna Thota is a bilingual writer, gender trainer, and social worker. Currently, she works as a consultant with Bhumika Women’s Collective. She has published Poorna: the Youngest Girl in the World to Scale Mount Everest (English, 2019) and Bold & Beautiful (Telugu short stories, 2021), and co-edited an anthology of Telugu stories In the Mood for Love (2018). Poorna has been translated into Telugu and Malayalam. She worked as a Senior Associate Editor of Suraksha, the magazine of Andhra Pradesh Police, ran a column in the daily Mana Telangana, and organized the very first workshop for aspiring queer writers on short story writing.
