Rakhshanda Jalil
Rakhshanda Jalil studied at Delhi Public School, graduated in English literature from Miranda House, Delhi, and has a doctorate on ‘The Progressive Writers’ Movement as Reflected in Urdu Literature’ from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. A well-known critic and literary historian, Rakhshanda Jalil’s publications include two edited volumes of short stories, a collection of essays on the little-known monuments of Delhi, a literary biography of a feminist writer, and nearly ten works of translations. Rakhshanda Jalil runs ‘Hindustani Awaaz’, an organisation devoted to the popularisation of Hindi–Urdu literature and culture. She blogs at www.hindustaniawaaz-rakhshanda.blogspot.com and IBN Live.
