The Little Theatre was formed in 1977 by a motley group of individuals who shared a common love for reading and had an ancillary interest in public performance. Founded with the objective of popularising reading as an activity for pleasure, the group over the past 25 years nearly 300 readings mainly in the twin cities, but also in Vizag, Vijayawada, Bangalore, and Madras. The readings have covered many genres, several formats, and a variety of audiences. They have added where appropriate, music and visuals to enhance impact. The Readings at HLF 2023 mark the group’s 25th anniversary and are a tribute to a dear colleague, Vijay Marur who passed away in 2019.
