HLF promotes artistic expression through paintings, sketches, sculptures, or any other form of visual art. It facilitates an open and interactive dialogue between artists and audiences.

This year’s exhibits include:

Travelling Plants

Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad

Rashmimala, Waylon D’Souza, Wendy Therméa, Karolina Grzywnowicz

Travelling Plants has been curated and commissioned by Max Mueller Bhavan Chennai. The project commenced with a residency at Institut Français de Pondichéry (IFP) where the artists explored the Herbarium, and were presented with a diverse programme of workshops, field trips, a series of lectures and presentations from experts, and the opportunity to interact with in-house researchers, scientists and technicians connected with Social Sciences, Ecology, Indology and Geomatics. Reflecting synergies from their shared experiences at the residency, the exhibition brings together four artists. Their works are responses in both traditional and contemporary contexts.

Festival of Democracy

Goethe-Zentrum Hyderabad

Democracy in Germany and India was constituted after a long struggle over many years. This exhibition explores the women who participated in the laying of the new nations – Germany’s Mothers of Basic Law and India’s Women Architects of the Constitution.

What On Earth!®

The Council on Energy, Environment and Water

(CEEW): Does climate change conjure images of gloom and looming doom for you? Here’s a bit of wit and humour to change that picture! This cartoon series by CEEW, brings sustainability and climate conversation to life with some humour.

Rocks Matter

The Society to Save Rocks:

This exhibition showcases rock conservation through numerous mediums. Immersive activities include painting tattoos, painting bookmarks and postcards, an online rock quiz, rock puzzles, workshops on making digital rock posters and rock origami, and a treasure hunt.

Here & There – Through the Lens of a Phone

Aquin Mathews:

In this exhibition, the viewer is invited to step into a world seemingly familiar, yet offers new perspectives through the simplicity of a mobile phone camera. It reminds us that we do not need the latest technology to capture the world’s wonders. We only need to pause, look closely, and open our hearts to what is already before us.

Vilnius Historical Photos

Embassy of Lithuania in New Delhi:

Vilnius, Lithuania’s capital, celebrates its 700th birthday. The historical photographs for this exhibition were prepared by the National Museum of Lithuania which has an impressive collection of images of Vilnius. This collection was adapted for Indian viewers by the Embassy of Lithuania in New Delhi and the inimitable Museo Camera at Gurgaon.

Exhibition Title: Cidākāśa

by Srivi Kalyan

These works delve into the profound realms of inner consciousness, describing the transformative journey from inner quietude to the boundless expanse of eternity, where the artist finds inspiration in creations that bridge the form and formless, drawing from the mystical, rootless, and poetic essence of undifferentiated consciousness.
