Dharmender Vaddepally is a designer with a fine arts background. He was a textile designer for ten years at Dastkar Andhra, a weaver support NGO. He then worked with weavers to help them to build on their own skills and become independent. In 2022 he started work with Malkha and currently runs it. He was invited for a one-month fellowship at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Knowledge in 2022. He is interested in making weaving as knowledge accessible to children and the general public.
